SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING IN EASTERN EUROPE |
Bulgaria |
| For those who like skiing and snowboarding, Bulgaria offers perfectly good skiing conditions and very reasonable prices, which explains why it attracts an international crowd. The country has four main resorts: Bansko, Borovets, Pamporovo, Vitosha. They are decently equipped but don't compare to the top French or Italian ski resorts. |

Poland |
| A small part of the Polish territory is on the top of the Alps' Arc. The ski resorts are all located in that area, which is in the south of the country. The conditions overall are good. The resorts are moderately well equipped but the conditions are been steadily improving since the fall of communism. |

Romania |
| The mythical Carpathian mountain range covers a good deal of the Romanian territory. The country therefore has a good mountainous potential, even if the peaks aren't always very high. The landscapes are truly beautiful and more than make up for the mediocre level of equipment of the resorts. |

Russia |
| Russia offers a lot of different skiing and snowboard options, and the skiing infrastructures are rapidly developing in the country, as a response to the love the Russians have for winter sports. One can go skiing in the area around Moscow, in the Caucasian, and in many other regions of this large country. |

Slovakia |
| Skiing in Slovakia, even if it can't be compared to the skiing conditions in France, Switzerland or Italy, is a pleasure. The country, covered by the Western and Eastern Tatras, is mountainous, but the average elevation of the resorts isn't very high and the snowfall conditions are changeable. |

Slovenia |
| Slovenia, which used to be part of the Yugoslavian Republic, has common borders with Italy, Austria and Hungary. The mountainous potential and good sunshine conditions are the country's strong points. The resorts are decently equipped and charge reasonable prices. |

Czech Republic |
| Most Czech resorts are in the North of the country, close to the German or Polish borders. The resorts' level of equipment is very variable and their elevation is usually pretty low. However, the snowfall conditions are very decent, especially for such low altitudes. |
