SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING IN NORTHERN EUROPE |
Germany |
| People ski in the South of the country, in the Bavarian Alps. The conditions overall are good, even if the technical level of the resorts is a little less good than in the French, Swiss or Italian Alps. The resorts, nonetheless are well equipped and easy to access. |

Austria |
| Skiing is part of the Austrian cultural heritage. Tyrol's mountainous landscapes are absolutely gorgeous, having been preserved in most of the cases. In Austria, you'll be able to ski an authentic ski in an amazing environment. However, as the Austrian Alps aren't as elevated as the rest of the Alps, the sport conditions are a little less good than in some French, Swiss or Italian ski resorts. |

Scotland |
| Scotland may be the place to go for whisky but sadly it isn't the place to go to ski... The changeable snowfall conditions, the humid climate (which means a heavy snow) and strong winds usually make you want to stay put in the pub. However, Scottish landscapes in winter are magnificent and ski should be seen as one tourist activity among the many offered by this charming country. |

Norway |
| Norway is where ski was born. The fact the country is well equipped is a proof of this heritage. The conditions are good, even if the weather can get daunting in the winter. Indeed, due to the fact the country is close to the Pole, days in December and January are very short and the temperatures can get pretty extreme. However, it's also possible to ski in Norway later in the year (May, June) when, for the same reasons, the days become extremely long. |

Sweden |
| The ski and snowboard conditions in Sweden are similar to those in Noway. The equipment conditions are good, the quality of the snow is usually good, and the resorts are easy to access. Of course, due to its latitudes, the weather also gets extreme in this country. |

Switzerland |
| Switzerland boasts excellent skiing conditions in a often typical and preserved setting. Some of the landscapes are breath-taking, the resorts are very well equipped and the snowfall conditions are very good, thanks to the very continental climate. Switzerland is a destination of choice for the ski and snowboard fans who wish to avoid the dorm-like resorts in the French or Italian Alps. |
