Situated on the edge of a forest, AURIS-EN-OISANS is a medium sized resort where all the residential buildings are close to the leisure and service facilities. The resort is also linked to a large network of skis areas. In the winter, there is plenty to do for non skiers too: walking or hiking with snow shoes, a guided tour of the rural museum, indoor games, games on the lower slopes, night skiing and rubber ring races, cabaret, cinema... LES 2 ALPES, A WHITE PARADISE !
This famous Isère destination at the heart of the Oisans, is part of a generation of resorts that were created from scratch. At an altitude of 1600 metres, it was built over high mountain pastures, shared between the villages of Venosc and Mont de Lans. A dream was to become a reality here during the 1930’s. The winter and summer resort, Alpe d'Huez, is located on the South face of the mountain Les Grandes Rousses at the altitude of 1860 m.
