When vacationers say they're off to ski chamonix, they really will be skiing 5 different ski regions along the Chamonix Valley.

Each of the 5 ski regions is massive. They're accessed from an access village and these are not interconnected. So, you have a get a bus or train to get around the valley and to commute between the ski regions.

Here's where you ski and the access village at the bottom of that ski region.

* Domaine de Balme is accessed from the village of Le Tour
* Les Grands Montets is accessed from the village of Argentiere
* Flagere is accessed from the village of Les Praz
* Brevent is accessed from the main town, Chamonix Mont Blanc. The nursery slopes La Savoy and Les Plannards are also located at Chamonix Mont Blanc
* The Kandahar and Les Houches ski area is accessed from the village of Les Houches.
