Huge range of skiing, suitable for beginners to expert, groomed gentle pistes to miles of massive moguls, open mountain tops to secret wooded runs. It also has superb access with numerous ways of getting on to the slopes. There is a range of accommodation to suit most budgets. - Disliked:
Lots of open chairs although there is a new covered one in Arc 2000. Can be busy during the French holidays. - Conclusion:
Fantastic fun, even after 4 visits there are still new corners, pistes and runs to explore

Near the valley... just 30 min. from Grenoble... Quite a nice ski area... Good variety where slopes are concerned... - Disliked:
Chock-a-block full of people from Grenoble on weekends. - Conclusion:
A nice little resort, but watch out for weekends and school holidays: it can really be hell...

The resort is a lot longer than it is wide, so getting around by car is sometimes difficult... - Conclusion:
Very nice resort. We'll certainly go back!

Good altitude, with snow all season long... - Disliked:
The resort itself is nothing to write home about, and lacks the charm of some of the resorts in the Savoie region... - Conclusion:
A resort for the more athletic skier, who wants to ski above all else!

Visit Valmorel once and you're sure to return...

The ski area is not high(2500m). The resort is not very big and can get crowded during school holiday periods... - Conclusion:
A must...

Large ski area, with a lot of slopes.
Great weather(in general)
Big, lively resort that also caters to non-skiers.
The local inhabitants are very hospitable. - Disliked:
Not much to say on the negative side.
Maybe a bit fed up of having to remove our skis when going to pick up a few eggs, or taking cable-cars, etc... But no, not really. It was really great. - Conclusion:
A truly pleasant stay. A resort I would recommend.
