ALPINE SKI LESSONS: THE BASIC POSITION |
The basic ski position |
The skier's position is extremely important as it has a direct influence on his/her balance and the way the skis react.
Your basic position should be the following:
Your weight should be central above your skis, it should be evenly distributed on the entire boot's sole. Your arms should be relaxed in front of you, your back straight and slightly leaning forwards. Your knees should be bent. |
What you should be feeling |
A even support on the ball of the feet and not on the back of the boot.
Your tibiae lightly applying pressure on the boot's tongue, indicating that your knees are sufficiently bent. |
