The 2014 Ski Review
Snow and weather conditions
There was a lot of snow and little sun during this year's ProSkiLab™ session, creating good testing conditions for Freeride skis (powder, crud), and Intermediate and Advanced piste skis (varying snow-cover types). As overnight refreezing was good, we were able to test this year's selection of Slalom and Giant Slalom skis on hard snow.
Test site 2013/2014
As in previous years, the manufacturers' best skis were tested at the La Clusaz ski area, which is the ideal site for our various testing programmes due to its versatile terrain and snow types.
Testers 2013/2014
As always, ProSkiLab™ recruited a test team made up of professional skiers specialising in the various disciplines, as well as several keen amateur skiers. The professionals' role was to push the skis to the limit and to dissect their performance in detail. Amateurs were included to provide feedback in line with what most end users might expect. By combining the testers' skills in this way, we have provided future buyers with the most objective and useful reviews possible.
